Maple Leafs Got What It Takes!
In 66 days the Toronto Maple Leafs will be facing the Montreal Canadians for their first regular season game. Yet there is no shortage of speculations, analysis, opinions and rumours even after the free agency frenzy has ended.
The Toronto Maple Leafs according to many writers and analysts have done the most improvement to their rosters. Everyone has keyed on their blue line and how it's level of competitiveness will match any team in the NHL.
Some voices were heard over their lack of offence and yet Brian Burke was not successfull at bringing a top 6 foward into the line up.

Today I am going to share with you what I believe is the proposed line up and predictions for the new Maple Leafs roster.
Let's first start with our forwards
NIKOLAI KULEMIN 28G 31A 59PTS | MIKHAIL GRABOVSKI 30G 45A 75PTS | ALEXEI PANIKAROVSKY 28G 42A 70PTS |
JASON BLAKE 32G 40A 72PTS | JOHN MITCHELL 20G 35A 55PTS | NIKLAS HAGMAN 27G 30A 57PTS |
TYLER BOZAK 22G 15A 37PTS | MATT STAJAN 20G 45A 65PTS | LEE STEMPNIAK 18G 28A 46PTS |
CHRISTIAN HANSON 18G 12A 30PTS | RICKARD WALLIN 15G 20A 35PTS | COLTON ORR 12G 15A 27PTS |
Keep in mind the Maple Leafs ranked 11th last season in GF. This year with their offence and more room for the young players to flourish expect those numbers to go up. Expect the leafs to have around 270 GF and ranked around the 6th in the league.
We move now to the defence lineup and here is what I believe we will have.
LUKE SCHENN 5G 18A 23PTS | FRANCOIS BEAUCHEMIN 8G 10A 18PTS |
MIKE KOMISAREK 4G 15A 19PTS | TOMAS KABERLE 6G 32A 38PTS |
MIKE VAN RYN 4G 8A 12PTS | GARNET EXELBY 4G 10A 14PTS |
JEFF FINGER 2G 10A 12PTS | JONAS FROGEN 1G 8A 9PTS |
I strongly believe that Ian White, Anton Stralman will not make the roster this upcoming season. There is a great chance that one or both will be traded to another team for draft picks before the season begins. Having said that look for the Leafs to rank in the top 10 in GA with around 230 goals.
Finally the goal-tending which should be interesting to watch this upcoming season.
VESA TOSKALA 35W 15L 5OTL 2.85GAA .92SV% | JONAS GUSTAVSSON 11W 8L 8OTL 2.72GAA .905SV% |
With all the players in place it's going to be very exciting to watch the Leafs play this season. Expect this upcoming season to end with the following record, 82GP 46W 23L 13OTL. The Leafs will make the playoffs and put an end to this drought. GO LEAFS GO and cheers.
