WWE NXT: Full Preview, Rumors and More for October 30

The Doctor Chris MuellerOct 30, 2014

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for the Oct. 30 episode of NXT on the WWE Network. Spoilers are already out there, but if you want to know what will happen without having the matches spoiled for you, you're in the right place.

This is going to be a good week for the NXT roster. Some new faces will get some exposure, but more to the point, a large amount of the roster will be featured on one episode thanks to a Battle Royal.

Let's take a look at what's on tap for the show this week.

The Women

The mainstays in the NXT women's division get a break this week so a newcomer can get some time in front of the cameras.

Carmella will be taking on Emma, who is returning to her NXT roots for this match. Carmella has only had one match so far, but she has shown some promise in the small amount of time she's had to develop.

Emma might not be the best Diva on the roster, but she's good enough to take care of Carmella in the ring, making her a good opponent to test out the rookie's ability.

At this point in Carmella's career, any win would be important, but a win over someone who is on the main roster will definitely help her more than beating another rookie.

Emma has been in a slump ever since Santino had to tend to some medical issues, so even a win over someone as green as Carmella would do her good.

In the end, this match is more about seeing what a new talent is capable of than anything else. As long as Carmella looks good in the ring, she wouldn't suffer too much from a loss.

The Tag Teams

The Lucha Dragons will finally find out who their next challengers will be after every other tag team in NXT squares off in a Battle Royal to crown new No. 1 contenders for the Tag Team Championships.

The Ascension, The Vaudevillains, Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger, Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy and The Realest Guys in the Room will all be involved.

Battle Royals are always fun, and this should be no exception. Even if some of the teams don't seem likely to win, it will still be entertaining to watch them try.

While they are still considered the most dominant tag team in NXT, it would be surprising to see Konnor and Viktor win the title shot. They're too focused on Hideo Itami to move back to the tag title hunt.

The real teams to watch are The Vaudevillains and Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. They're the only two teams with any sort of push or momentum at the moment, so it will probably come down to them.

The Men

The first singles match of the night will see the bruiser Bull Dempsey battle high-flyer Justin Gabriel. It's hard to imagine a bigger clash of styles, but sometimes that leads to the best matches.

Dempsey has shown some real potential in the ring, but he has yet to really be tested. Gabriel is a solid hand who can really help Dempsey show off his capabilities.

While Gabriel has picked up a few wins in NXT, it seems like he is being fed to Dempsey in order to give him a win over an established star more than anything else.

Beating Gabriel is no big feat, but he has enough credibility to give a budding talent like Dempsey some exposure in the process.

Two other up-and-coming NXT stars who will be featured this week are Tony Briggs and Baron Corbin. You may be asking yourself, "Who is Tony Briggs?" If you are, then you can probably guess who is going to win this match.

Don't let his lack of name recognition fool you, though. Briggs could have a bright future in WWE. For anyone familiar with the West Coast wrestling scene, you may have seen him go by the name Brian Tannen.

He is a mountain of a man who has a bit of a throwback look and wrestling style. He's probably starting off as a jobber like a lot of NXT talents, but this kid could have a bright future if he keeps his head up and pays attention to the coaches and trainers at the Performance Center.

It's also no coincidence that he shared a last name with the iconic Biff Tannen from Back to the Future. They bear a slight resemblance, and Briggs definitely embodies some of his personality traits.

The final match of the evening will see the always-popular Sami Zayn taking on a man who is trying to revitalize his career in NXT, Titus O'Neil.

This is another big clash of styles. Titus has the power, and Zayn has the technical prowess and agility to spare. It should be a pretty fun main event.

O'Neil failed to capture the title last week against Adrian Neviile, so he will be looking to get back to his winning ways by beating one of NXT's biggest stars, but therein lies the problem.

Zayn is not only one of the best and brightest on the roster, but he is still pursuing Neviile and his championship. A loss to O'Neil would really hurt his momentum and his chances of getting another title shot in the near future.

Seeing who has his hand raised at the end of the night could give us a big sign as to who will challenge for the NXT Championship during the next live special, so it's an important match for both men involved.

This is a rare week where we will get to see at least 18 different wrestlers featured on a one-hour episode. If you never watch NXT, this might be a good opportunity to check out the show to see if anyone appeals to you.

What are you looking forward to seeing on this week's show?
