CSN Mid-Atlantic's Clifton Brown provided the news:
The Ravens (8-5) are coming off a big win against the Dolphins. In the ultra-competitive AFC North, losing Smith for any amount of time would be a huge blow to the team's playoff aspirations.
Baltimore takes on the Jaguars Sunday. They can't afford to drop such a winnable game as they look to overtake the Bengals (8-4-1) in the final weeks of the season.
Smith has remained relatively healthy for the majority of the season, but has been ineffective in the offense. While once one of quarterback Joe Flacco’s top targets, the focus has shifted to veteran Steve Smith and his ability to make plays down the field.
Flacco and Torrey Smith found success in 2013, connecting for a team-high 65 receptions, 1,128 yards and four touchdowns. During this season on the other hand, Smith and Flacco’s timing has been off, and it has resulted in several costly turnovers.
