Undertaker, Alexa Bliss and Latest WWE NXT Developmental News

Ryan DilbertOct 29, 2014

The Undertaker will assist in shaping the future via WWE NXT, a future in which Alexa Bliss may play a major role in.

The Deadman isn't set to become the next Bill DeMott, but he will be offering his expertise at WWE developmental. Bliss is one of the many talents who can benefit from his guidance. One of Undertaker's last opponents is reportedly a big backer of the Diva.

In other NXT news, Uhaa Nation stood out, a former NFL player was among the new recruits starting out at the WWE Performance Center and a male model did his best to follow their leads.

An influx of prospects from various backgrounds will make for an intriguing mix at NXT, especially with a legend in their corner.

Undertaker Helping out at NXT

Undertaker, who perhaps has wrestled his last match, will still be working with WWE. He'll be traveling down to Full Sail University, looking to share lessons from a career that has spanned 30 years.

According to PWInsider Elite (subscription required; h/t Wrestling Inc) Undertaker will be working as an adviser from time to time at NXT, offering pointers in a non-regular role.

NXT already has a stock of quality wrestling minds, but Undertaker will instantly grab his audience's attention like few others could. Not all greats make great teachers, but it's hard to imagine that Undertaker's thoughts on the art of wrestling aren't extremely valuable.

He'll be a huge asset for WWE developmental, even if his adviser schedule is as light as his wrestling one has been for the past few years.

New Prospects Begin Their Career at the WWE Performance Center

2 of 5

After plucking some of the biggest stars from the independent circuit and Japan, WWE has moved on to other sources of potential greatness. The next wave of men and women to hit the Performance Center are from a variety of worlds, none of which include the indy circuit.

Writing for PWInsider, Mike Johnson reports that "a number of new WWE developmental talents started with the company this week." Johnson listed the following prospects as being in that group:

  • Sabatino Piscitelli
  • Gionna Daddio
  • Josh Woods
  • Brittney Zahra Schreiber
  • Dustin Mueller
  • Sunny Dhinsa

Piscitelli is a former safety in the NFL. Mueller is a bodybuilder. Daddio and Schreiber are both models; the former is sure to remind many fans of Kelly Kelly.

Woods comes to WWE via MMA and amateur wrestling. Dhinsa is familiar with Olympic-style wrestling as well: He's a powerfully built grappler who has won many an award on the mat for Canada.

Uhaa Nation Impresses at Tryout

3 of 5

It's no surprise that Uhaa Nation stood out at the recent WWE tryouts, as powerful and agile as he is.

Fans of his work at Dragon Gate USA already know that he's one of wrestling's top talents. It appears that WWE is now fully aware of that.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that "We are told that Nation really turned a lot of heads, and some of the developmental talents expected to hear he was signed."

Johnson also notes that WWE is on the lookout for international talents, including those who speak Spanish. Many of the potential prospects at the recent tryouts were from other countries.

That continues the trend of WWE's efforts to diversify its talent pool and become more international. Australia, France, Japan and Ireland are already represented at NXT. After this latest scouting session, more nations could be added to that list...including Uhaa.

Other Tryout Notes

4 of 5

Atlas of Puerto Rico's World Wrestling League may be heading to Florida.

As noted on PWInsider's Jose Perez, Atlas posted a message on his Facebook page after a recent event "where he stated that he would no longer be a part of WWL. He thanked the company for the opportunity and stated that he has a lot of things to prepare for in his career and is focused on achieving his goals."

PWInsider mentioned that Atlas was a part of the recent WWE tryouts. Does this talk of achieving goals refer to his moving from WWL to NXT?

His build alone was sure to get him noticed by company scouts. That's an asset that model Sergi Constance has going for him as well.

Constance was also at the WWE Performance Center and posted on Instagram, "Amazing week in the #wwe performance center!! I met a lot of extraordinary athletes very talented, great coaches and trainers, and i did the most hard intensity workouts ever!"

Triple H Big on Alexa Bliss

5 of 5

Alexa Bliss may be the most unfinished product in the NXT Divas division, but she has a key supporter in Triple H.

PWInsider Elite reports (subscription required; h/t Wrestling Inc) that The Game is high on Bliss and sees her as someone the company can build around. The report also notes that Sasha Banks is high on the NXT ladder as well, although Triple H wants her to work less stiffly. Bayley is said to be lower than Bliss on the totem pole.

Bliss has shown flashes of athleticism and a good grasp of showmanship, but it's hard to support ranking her ahead of Bayley; she's clearly in the learning stages of the process. Even if she makes great strides, though, she will have a tough time catching Banks, Bayley and Charlotte.

With Triple H reportedly behind her, she'll get plenty of opportunities to close that gap.
