Justin Tuck Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz, Speculation Surrounding Raiders DE

Tim DanielsOct 28, 2014

The Oakland Raiders signed Justin Tuck to a two-year deal during the offseason with hope he could bolster the pass rush. Instead, he's recorded just two sacks in six games and could be on the move before today's trade deadline.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network listed him among the players to watch:

Tuck spent the first nine seasons of his career with the New York Giants. Four times during that span he registered a double-digit sack total, including last season when he had 11.

He hasn't showcased the same level of explosiveness in his first season with the Raiders, though. And with Oakland on pace for a forgettable season at 0-7, it's no surprise the front office may be looking to move some veterans before the deadline.

Tuck dealt with a knee injury that forced him to miss the team's Week 7 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He returned on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and recorded his second sack of the campaign.

The most likely suitors would be contending teams looking for a rotational pass rusher. He's not a defensive building block like he was during his peak with the Giants, but he could still provide a boost to a defensive line in a more limited role.
