Shrewsbury Boss Declares Himself 'Special Brew' as New Ale Made for Chelsea Game
Shrewsbury Town take on Chelsea in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night, and it is fair to say the Shropshire locals are excited about the clash.
To celebrate the occasion, a local brewery has produced a special ale for the match, and a competition was held to name the brew.
Wood’s Brewery made the ale. Edward Wood, managing director of the brewery, told the following to the Shropshire Star:

"We wanted to come up with a special brew for the Chelsea game. We thought we’d let the fans name it and we had a brilliant response. Richie Dunse, from Harlescott, came up with "Blues & Amber" while Jane Pittaway, from Meole Brace, came up with a strapline of "Our Special Mon" – a play on Jose Mourinho’s phrase The Special One.
"
"Mon" is used as a term of affection in the Shrewsbury area.
What's more, Shrewsbury boss Micky Mellon has told his Chelsea counterpart to look out, as he is the "Special Brew" to Mourinho's "Special One." Per ITV:
"If he's the Special One, I'm more Special Brew. It'll be terrific to have Jose here.
I'm determined to get everything we can as a football club.
I want to learn everything about how the best in the business operates.
Jose deserves and probably loves his nickname.
"
No doubt the new brew will be flowing if Shrewsbury cause a big upset, and the competition winners can get the party started. They were given 18 pints as a prize for picking the victorious names.
