i know its to early to say but i have the mavericks in 2nd place.

LAKERS- i have the lakers at one because you always have to have the defending champs at number one ,but there roster looks kinda shaky right now. you still dont know if the artest experiment is gonna work,then you lose ariza and probably gonna lose odom to miami(in my mind the lakers X factor).
there bench like kinda weak right now to rasha and luke, off the bench arent gonna really help them to a championship,but they still have kobe so you never know.
MAVERICKS- the mavs got a major blow to them with orlando matching gortat,in my mind they hurt them self finacially all that money for a backup seems pretty dumb to me but its whatever.the mavs got the major trade for marion. i love this move because he runs well and he can guard basically any position like carmello,lebron,kobe,wade,ect.he gives us a toughness that we needed on the court.in my mind is this years gasol trade.look what we haveto give george and wright exchange for a player who might put us over the hump HOPEFULLY! then we resign kidd. i kinda didnt want to sign him but now that we traded for marion i imagin kidd running the floor with people like marion,jet,howard,jj,dirk,and now goodenthis looks very attractive in my eyes.plus our draft pick beubois can learn from a hall a fame point, and put rodrigue beubois under his wing seems pretty nice to me.the mavs front court looks kinda skinny still,the mavs need to use the buck shot and trade for one more big man.
NUGGETS- cant really say anything about the nuggets they havelost there defensive specialist jones to the pacers and the the player that they have added is malik allen and aaron afflalo. this denver team doesnt really have the same spark off the bench any more other than the birdman,but there starting five looks pretty good.were gonna have to wait and see for next season i guess.
SPURS- you cant really say anything bad about the spurs because of there championships this decade,but this off season they've trade for a solid player in jefferson.they also havent gotten younger they have added McDyess(34)
and Ratliff(36!!!)really.the spurs have to be cautioned with duncans injuries.
in my mind the jefferson trade doesnt really matter if they dont put more younger bodys on that team.
TRAILBLAZER- seems like this team cant get what they want this summer ha, but the team has a bright future. there offer to miller i think is just a waste a money miller isnt really gonna put them over the hump either is steve blake. the only thing this team is missing is a experienced veteran point guard miller wont do.
