Arsenal to Win Race for Stephan Lichtsteiner

1 of 1

Jose Mourinho has made a habit of beating Arsene Wenger on the pitch, but is the Chelsea manager set to lose out against the Arsenal boss in the transfer market?

Italian outlet Tuttosport (via Colin Harvey of the Daily Star) is reporting the Gunners are in pole position to sign Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, whom Mourinho was rumoured to be interested in bringing to Stamford Bridge.

The Swiss is out of contract in the summer, so he will be available on a free transfer come July.

However, Wenger is eager to bolster his squad as soon as possible, so he may look to bring him to the Emirates Stadium in January.
