Ryan Lochte Surprises Employees by Leaving $400 Tip at Penn State Restaurant

Kyle NewportOct 27, 2014

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte made some fans at Penn State this weekend.

The 30-year-old was in State College this past weekend. While there, he made his way over to a restaurant called Inferno Brick Oven and Bar.

According to Penn State graduate student and bar manager Kristen Arcangelo, per MyFoxPhilly.com, Lochte came into the restaurant with 10 others and had some females following him. He was able to get a table in the packed restaurant and ordered bottle service.

Lochte ran up a bill of just more than $425. However, it was his tip that made the splash.

In case you were wondering, his server, Nikki, does not get to keep the tip for herself. The bartenders at Inferno Brick Oven and Bar pool their tips.

Regardless of who gets the money, it was an awfully mighty generous tip left by the Olympian. In this instance, he just happened to make several bartenders very happy.

State College restaurants should keep an eye out for Lochte, because he plans on returning at some point.
