
USMNT Watch: Jose Torres and Herculez Gomez Tally for Americans Abroad
After a few dreadful weeks on the club front for Americans playing abroad, things picked up this week with Jose Torres and Herculez Gomez each scoring to lead the way.
Tim Ream and Mix Diskerud also picked up assists, and Geoff Cameron earned his first English Premier League start of the season.
There are also injury updates on Stuart Holden, Timmy Chandler and Alejandro Bedoya.

The English Premier League Boys

Geoff Cameron made his first league start of the season for Stoke City in their 1-0 loss to Southampton.
Jozy Altidore came on in the 74th minute of Sunderland's 2-0 loss to Arsenal.
Brad Guzan and Aston Villa play Queens Park Rangers on Monday.
Ze Germans
Julian Green came on in the 65th minute for Hamburger SV as they lost 3-0 to Hertha Berlin. John Anthony Brooks was an 84th-minute substitute for Hertha.
Fabian Johnson was an 81st-minute substitute for Borussia Monchengladbach in their 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich.
Joe Gyau (Borussia Dortmund) is injured.
Timmy Chandler picked up an injury and was not part of Eintracht Frankfurt's squad this weekend.
In Bundesliga 2, Alfredo Morales went the distance, as usual, for Ingolstadt in their 1-0 win over FC Heidenheim.
Terrence Boyd was a 76th-minute substitute for Red Bull Leipzig in their 2-0 win over Bochum.
Andrew Wooten started and went the distance for Sandhausen in their 1-1 draw with Aue.
Bobby Wood was not in the squad for 1860 Munich's match this weekend, and it appears as if it's down to poor form.
In the English Championship
Tim Ream started and picked up an assist in Bolton's 3-1 win over Brentford. Stuart Holden is still out injured, but posted a touching letter on ESPN this week about his rehabilitation efforts.
Birmingham lost 8-0 to Bournemouth. Brek Shea and Will Packwood were in the squad, but didn't get off the bench. Jonathan Spector is still out injured.
Nottingham Forest lost 3-1 to Blackburn with Eric Lichaj on the bench.
Neither Danny Williams (Reading) nor Emerson Hyndman (Fulham) were in their respective squads this weekend.
Elsewhere in Europe
Mix Diskerud played 78 minutes and had a beautiful assist (video here) in Rosenborg's 3-1 win over Sandnes.
Rubio Rubin came on in the 58th minute for Utrecht in their 5-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven.
Conor O’Brien started and played the first half of Wiener Neustadt's 2-0 loss to Austria Wien.
Sacha Kljestan was an unused substitute in Anderlecht's 2-0 loss to Standard Liege.
Alejandro Bedoya picked up an injury and did not feature for Nantes this weekend.
Aron Johannsson was not in the squad for AZ Alkmaar.
Josh Gatt (Molde) is still out injured.
South of the Border
Herculez Gomez scored (at the 0:21 mark of the embedded clip) in Tigres' 2-2 draw with Monterrey. Jose Torres also started for Tigres; Alonso Hernandez did not make the squad for Monterrey.
In midweek action, Torres scored a nice free-kick goal in Tigres' 2-0 Copa MX win over Toluca.
Edgar Castillo started and went the distance in Atlas' 2-1 win over Puebla. Michael Orozco went the full 90 for Puebla.
Greg Garza started and played 70 minutes of Tijuana's 3-3 draw with Chivas Guadalajara. Paul Arriola was not in the squad for Tijuana; Joe Corona is out injured.
Ventura Alvarado made the bench, but did not play in America's 3-2 loss to Queretaro.
