Titans running back Shonn Greene's court case for multiple traffic violations has been continued until January 6, according to a court clerk in Williamson County.

Greene was arrested on October 24 in Franklin, Tenn., and charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk.

Greene Speaks on Arrest

Terry McCormick of 247Sports.com provided a brief quote from Shonn Greene regarding his arrest earlier in the week:

"

“I really can't talk about it. I was told not to talk about it. It ain't what it seems to be or what they make it to be,” Greene said, heeding the advice of his attorney.

(...)

“It's not embarrassing to me, because I know what happened,” said Greene, who was accused of speeding away from the scene.

Greene Arrested on Multiple Charges

Tennessee Titans running back Shonn Greene was reportedly arrested on several charges by police in Franklin, Tennessee.

According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, Greene was charged with four crimes on Friday night before being released on bond:

"

Greene was charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk.

The incident began when Greene parked in a handicap parking space on the square in Franklin, located roughly 20 miles south of Nashville. When a parking enforcement officer approached Greene, police say he got in his car and maneuvered to get around the parking enforcement officer's vehicle.

"

Wyatt provides the Titans' statement on Greene:

The story goes deeper, as Wyatt notes that Greene sped off from the police on two separate occasions. The first was after he nearly struck an officer's car and again when he was approached after getting stuck in traffic.

Franklin Police Sergeant Charles Warner is quoted in Wyatt's piece as saying the "entire situation could have been avoided if he would have left that handicap space for who is was intended for."

ESPN's Paul Kuharsky reported on Greene's status with the team following his arrest:

John Glennon of The Tennessean reported the running back was expected to return to the field in Week 8 after a hamstring injury kept him out the last two weeks:

Greene has been used sparingly in the games he has played this season but with some success, averaging 4.3 yards per carry with one rushing touchdown. Rookie running back Bishop Sankey has moved into a more prominent role with Greene out.
