Kieran Gibbs is on course to be fit for Arsenal's clash with Burnley this weekend.

Arsene Wenger confirmed, via Arsenal's official Twitter:

Updates from Monday, Oct. 27

Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail reported on Kieran Gibbs' status going forward after his injury on Saturday:

"

Arsenal are hopeful Kieran Gibbs will be available to face Burnley on Saturday after the defender sustained a pelvic injury in the win over Sunderland.

The England international sustained the problem during the closing stages of the victory at the Stadium of Light.

The injury is still being assessed by the Gunners medical team, but the problem is not expected to keep Gibbs out for a prolonged period.

And the defender could even be available for the visit of newly-promoted Burnley on this weekend.

Left-back Kieran Gibbs has enjoyed a strong season for Arsenal thus far, but the 25-year-old Englishman was bitten by the injury bug Saturday.

According to the Gunners' official Twitter account, Gibbs was forced to leave Arsenal's match against Sunderland in the 73rd minute due to an undisclosed injury:

Manager Arsene Wenger talked about Gibbs' injury in a post-match interview (video courtesy of Avtex Sports,  begins at the 1:15 mark):

Gibbs exited with Arsenal leading 1-0 and seemingly in firm control of the match, but it could become problematic if he is forced to miss additional time.

Spending time on the injury list is nothing new for Gibbs, as he has never made more than 28 EPL appearances for Arsenal in a single season, but Gooners will hold their collective breath and hope it is nothing significant.
