Original Text
Jason Verrett's shoulder injury continues to be a problem for the San Diego Chargers rookie.
U-T San Diego's Michael Gehlken provides details on Verrett's status:
Entering the game, Verrett's inclusion in the San Diego lineup was in doubt, per Gehlken:
Between the injuries to Verrett and Brandon Flowers, the Chargers secondary is depleted. Defending Peyton Manning and the Denver aerial attack is hard enough with a full-strength secondary.
That task becomes infinitely harder when two of your best cornerbacks are absent.
San Diego won't want to lose any more ground on the Broncos in the AFC West, so it will be imperative that both Verrett and Flowers get back on the field as soon as possible.
In addition, considering Verrett had offseason shoulder surgery, the Chargers will want to feel confident that this won't be a recurring problem throughout his career.
