Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryius Thomas' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 8

With the San Diego Chargers secondary dealing with injury issues, the Denver Broncos wide receivers looked prime for impressive fantasy performances, and so far, Emmanuel Sanders duly delivered on Thursday Night Football.

Sanders had a banner performance, largely leaving Demaryius Thomas in his shadow. You can view their respective stats below.

Thomas is one of the top WRs in fantasy football. Although his finals numbers don't include a touchdown, he's setting a nice pace. Nothing short of a debilitating injury will radically alter his value and knock him down from his WR1 pedestal.

On the other side, Sanders remains a great second option for Peyton Manning and the Broncos passing attack. Few offseason moves have worked out better than Denver signing Sanders:

The 27-year-old has been a strong WR2 all season, but he may be flirting with WR1 territory before too long. Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson are proof that two teammates can be among the best fantasy wideouts, so the presence of Thomas should do little to stunt Sanders' continued progress.

Expecting Sanders to grab three touchdowns every week is unrealistic, but perhaps he can use Week 8 as a springboard to jump into the top 10 at his position.
