Pogba also confirmed the deal on his Twitter account:

The 21-year-old has developed into one of the world's best young players since joining Juventus from Manchester United in 2012. He is a physical midfielder who possesses aggressive tackling ability and a knack for contributing in both defensive and attacking situations.

Serie A specialist James Horncastle provided further contract details:

Football writer David Amoyal also highlighted a personal success for Mino Raiola, Pogba's agent:

United, Manchester City and Chelsea were linked with signing the starlet, as reported by Jamie Anderson of the Express, but Juve have successfully tied their valuable asset to another five years of service.

Pogba has made made nine appearances in Serie A and the Champions League this season, scoring one goal and providing an assist, per WhoScored.com.

He has also developed into an important international figure for France. Pogba recently scored the winner during Les Bleus' 2-1 win over Portugal, while he impressed during the summer's World Cup.

In fact, the powerhouse captured FIFA's Young Player of the Tournament prize for his "excellent displays" in Brazil, as noted by the governing body's website.

Pogba's positioning alongside Arturo Vidal in the Juventus team has significantly aided his development over the last couple of seasons. Blessed with sharp dribbling skills and vision, Pogba has done well to mature his game next to a colleague who leads by example.

He still needs to learn when to pick difficult passes and when to maintain possession in important moments, but all things considered, Pogba is arguably the world's most complete midfielder in his age group.

With this in mind, his full range of skills can be seen below:

Pogba recently admitted his desire is to win both individual and team prizes throughout his career. "I can't predict what's going to happen in the future but I'm going to do all I can to win even more trophies," he told FIFA.com, as reported by Goal.com. "I'm going to keep working hard. My aim is to become the best player in the world."

Former team-mate Rio Ferdinand believes Pogba "will definitely turn out to be the best midfielder in the world," reported in the former United defender's BBC Sport column. Being surrounded by top quality players for the majority of his career will certainly help the Frenchman realise his dreams.

Pogba is destined to follow in the footsteps of former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder Patrick Vieira, who utilised his tall frame and power expertly to overcome his opposition. Excitingly, the youngster is years away from hitting his physical and mental peak, which means steady improvement can be expected throughout his new deal.

The Bianconeri will certainly be overjoyed at getting the player to ink a new deal, particularly if Vidal is destined to leave sometime in the not so distant future.
