It's Time To Start Training

With a little over a month to go, it’s time to start getting in shape. The summer is almost over and I have to admit that I have been slacking and there is no good reason for that. It would be an absolute catastrophe if I pulled a muscle on the big day and had to sit out the entire season. Football season is nothing to take lightly and the proper training is necessary for players and coaches, but most importantly the fans. That’s right, it’s important for fans to train as well. Start training your body to get up early on Saturday and sit in your seat, so that it has time to form to the shape of your bottom. Take in a few beers before noon and feel free to eat wings and pizza too. Start yelling things like “Come on ref!” and “You’ve gotta be kidding” so your vocal chords don’t go into shock during the actual games. Whatever your Saturday rituals are, start now so you can already be in the groove come the start of the season.

Now that we have that out of the way, it’s time to start talking Buckeye football! Sloopy is on his way people and just like every other season, we’re coming into this one with some controversy. It would not have felt right to run into The Shoe not on the heels of an arrest. So I would like to send a personal thank you to Jaamal Berry for being the scapegoat the media needed this year. There is certainly no need to re-hash (no pun intended) what Mr. Berry did this summer, but let’s just say if it helped an Olympic swimmer break records, maybe it will help us get a championship trophy! (Not condoning the use of drugs, but it’s almost legal people!)

The list of schools Jaamal Berry considered was small, but very important for every Buckeye fan to recognize the significance. There was the University of Michigan, go boo! There was also the University of Florida, and we just can’t lose anything else to those snippy gators. The last school is Louisiana State University, and perhaps that championship loss was the hardest for me (for reasons I can’t get into here). Berry made the decision to join our ranks. Let’s make a run for it people! And for all you non-OSU fans, this is for you…
