Baltimore Ravens tight end Owen Daniels did not practice Wednesday because of a knee injury.

Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reported the details of Daniels' status:

The Ravens are already thin at the tight end position, having lost usual starter Dennis Pitta to season-ending hip surgery. Daniels has filled in admirably in terms of pass-catching production, recording 27 receptions on 37 targets for 275 yards and three touchdowns.    

Crockett Gillmore is next on the depth chart, and he has just three catches in 2014.      

Even though the Ravens' rushing attack has improved from a season ago and they have two capable receivers in Steve Smith and Torrey Smith, they will be hoping for Daniels to return as soon as possible. Week 8 will be a tough road test in an AFC North showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.
