Bayern Munich Win the Internet with Brilliant Champions League Tweet

Bayern Munich's English Twitter account is always good value, and the Germans were in a particularly buoyant mood on Tuesday during their 7-1 demolition of Roma. (Imagine the idea of a German side winning 7-1 away from home...)

Moments before Robert Lewandowski was substituted for Franck Ribery in the middle of the second half, FCB's social team unleashed a perfectly timed missive.

For those who do not appreciate the context, Bayern were riffing on West Brom's ill-fated Tweet from Monday evening.

Two minutes and thirty-five seconds after this cheeky Tweet, Fellaini scored to make it 1-1. 

So, congratulations to Bayern for pulling off Twitter banter of the highest order. 

Earlier in the day, the German champions' social team also made headline for their rather flirtatious dialogue with Roma's account.

Apparently, the Twitter foreplay lulled the Italians into a false sense of security.
