TNA Impact Wrestling: Complete Preview, Rumors, News and More for October 22
TNA’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory, was a success, but the company is moving forward with several new marquee storylines that will lead Impact Wrestling into 2015 with a serious head of steam.
With a TNA World Heavyweight Championship feud between Lashley and Bobby Roode kicking into high gear this week, the beginning of the TNA Tag Team Championships No. 1 contender's tournament and more, Impact Wrestling and the entire TNA brand is moving in the right direction.
This week’s Impact Wrestling is must-watch television.
Here is all the vital viewing information for Wednesday’s episode and a full preview of TNA’s flagship show.
Where: Sands Casino, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
When: Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 9 p.m. ET (pre-taped)
Watch: Spike TV
Lashley and Bobby Roode’s Contract Signing
Reigning TNA world champion Lashley has been booked as one of the most dominant champions in the company’s history, beating the likes of Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy and Eric Young along the way.
Lashley’s greatest foe during his reign has been Bobby Roode. The former world champion understands what it takes to win and carry the title, and after winning a four-way No. 1 contender's match last week, he will get another shot at gold when he takes on Lashley next week.
On this Wednesday’s Impact Wrestling, the two men will have a contract signing.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Long Until the Two Challengers Attack Each Other?
Roode has gone to battle with Lashley and his friends MVP and Kenny King throughout this storyline, but TNA executive director Kurt Angle will be on hand during the contract signing to make a blockbuster announcement about the match.
While it’s clear the two combatants will come to blows, Angle’s announcement will delay the inevitable confrontation. The hope is that the executive director is healthy enough to oversee the match as a referee or outside enforcer, finally leveling the playing field for Roode.
Once Angle makes his announcement, Roode and Lashley can fight.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Marquee Main Events
There have been several issues with TNA over the last few months, but the main event angle between Roode and Lashley has been booked to perfection. After Lashley’s reign as a monster heel, Roode is the perfect wrestler to take the belt back as the face of the company.
The match next week will be an incredible in-ring performance from both men due to the grand stage they will be on, but the hope is that we are on the precipice of a new age in TNA. With rumors of a new TV deal, per F4WOnline (h/t Wrestle Zone), Roode should be the face of the company heading into a pivotal stretch.

Tag Team Tournament, Bram’s Attack on Devon and More
The tag team championship series between The Wolves, The Hardys and Team 3D was some of the best action in TNA history, but the company is already looking ahead to which team will get the opportunity to challenge The Wolves next.
On Wednesday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, a No. 1 contender’s tag team tournament begins. While most of the participating teams have yet to be announced, The Hardys and the duo of Ethan Carter III and Tyrus have already thrown their hats in the mix.
The result should be several elite tag team matches Wednesday.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Why Did Bram Attack Devon?
Despite Bram telling the fans not to worry about why he attacked Devon, the brutality of the assault and the recent history of hardcore matches should signal a possible bout between Bram and the ECW legend.
Devon isn’t afraid to get hardcore, and the attack last week won’t sit well with one-half of the TNA Hall of Fame duo Team 3D. Wrestling fans should expect Devon to hit the ring and challenge Bram to a match with a violent stipulation.
This doesn’t look like a long-term program, but a match between the two men would make this week’s show more entertaining.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Main Event Players
One of the biggest surprises from last week’s Impact Wrestling was the debut of ECIII’s new bodyguard, Tyrus. Formerly known as Brodus Clay in WWE, Tyrus will now bring his power and notoriety to the TNA stage.
ECIII is already one of the top all-around performers in the company, but with the backing of a monster heel like Tyrus, he will be tough to beat. As for this week, the duo will be part of the tag team tournament and will show exactly how dominant they can be.
It wouldn’t be a shock to see them win the tournament.
