College Football: The Inside Report On Steve Spurrier's All-SEC Ballot
A copy of the All-SEC ballot of Steve Spurrier reveals how Tim Tebow not being selected for the first team actually occurred.
The fury should die down around the old ball coach voting for someone else to be First team All-SEC quarterback once the public reviews the ballot Spurrier was given by SEC officials.
Information recovered from Lenny "The Cat", who obtained it Friday night by way of a skylight, clearly demonstrates Spurrier was on the money in not voting for Tebow.
Here is the quarterback section of the ballot, the one at the root of the controversy.
1st TEAM ALL-SEC
QUARTERBACK
(Vote For One Only)
1) Alabama, Joe Namath
2) Arkansas, Joe Ferguson
3) Auburn, Pat Sullivan
4) Florida, Tim Tebow
5) Georgia, Fran Tarkenton
6) Kentucky, Babe Parilli
7) LSU, Y.A. Tittle
8) Mississippi, Archie Manning
9) Mississippi State, John Bond
10) South Carolina, Dan Reeves
11) Tennessee, Peyton Manning
12) Vanderbilt, Bill Wade (Handsome Bill From Nashville, See Pictured Above In 1949)
Obviously, someone simply mixed up the all-time SEC ballot with the one for the current year.
If that's the case then let's agree, Spurrier shouldn't have voted for Tebow.
We support the old ball coach for placing Tebow no higher than second team.
Three cheers for SuperGator!
