Kansas City Chiefs Have Proved More at 3-3 Than They Did at 9-0 Last Year
The 9-0 start for the Kansas City Chiefs was a magical moment last year and caught the attention of every NFL fan. Coming off a disastrous 2-14 season, the Chiefs won their first nine games and became the league’s only unbeaten team after Week 6.
But let’s face it. Although the Chiefs showed massive improvement in 2013 by going 9-0, not everyone bought into their undefeated run. As excited as Chiefs fans were, even they knew the critics were right.
The Chiefs beat zero playoff teams during that hot start. Yes, the Chiefs did beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, but Mike Vick led them at the time, and the Eagles were not on pace to make the playoffs until they changed quarterbacks.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Although 9-0 is far better than 3-3, the Chiefs have proved they can compete with some of the best teams in the NFL this year. That is something they never proved in all of 2013.
The New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers are both 5-2 this year. The Patriots lead the AFC East, while the Chargers have been tied for first in the AFC West for most of the 2014 season. The Chiefs defeated both teams, blowing out the Patriots on Monday Night Football at home and squeezing out a narrow victory on the road in San Diego.
Excluding an ugly mishap to kick off the season against the Tennessee Titans, the Chiefs have proved that they can play with the best teams in the NFL.
The Chiefs fell short in beating the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers on the road as both games came down to the wire. The Chiefs were competitive in those games, but they needed to come out on top. However, the Chiefs recently learned to overcome their close losses and found a way to win.
Kansas City formed a game-winning drive with less than two minutes left in San Diego to come away with a 23-20 win. Beating a team as great as the Chargers on the road in a close game is no easy feat.
When the Chiefs have the right game plan, make the right play calls and execute well, they win games.
At the moment, the Chiefs are a .500 team at 3-3. They have proven that they can win against some of the best teams in the NFL. As long as they approach the rest of their games the same way they approached the wins against New England and San Diego, the Chiefs could be a team that makes a late surge in the second half of the season and could perhaps challenge Denver for the top spot in the AFC West.
By the time the Chiefs play the Seattle Seahawks, Broncos for a second time, Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers, anyone who has followed the Chiefs will know what they are capable of and not write them off completely against those high-powered teams.
It has been a roller-coaster start to the season, but the Chiefs have shown they are a playoff team through a challenging six-game schedule to start the year. If they can do what they’ve done while winning three of their last four games, they will be a force to be reckoned with to conclude the season.
