Harry Redknapp Savages Overweight Adel Taarabt After QPR Lose to Liverpool
Adel Taarabt wasn't anywhere near the QPR team that lost in chaotic fashion to Liverpool in Sunday's Premier League clash, but that didn't spare him a lashing from manager Harry Redknapp's tongue after the game.
In his press conference, Redknapp said he could no longer protect the talented Moroccan, who he described as three stone overweight:
"He played in a reserve match the other day, and I could have run around more than he did.
I want players who want to try and work every day at a good club like QPR, and show a good attitude - and that's what I got from the players against Liverpool.
When he (Taarabt) starts doing that, whether he ever can even do it, maybe he'll get a game. I've got a fantastic group of lads, and what am I supposed to say when I get asked a question (about Taarabt)?
I can't keep protecting them, when he's three stone overweight and on 60, 70 grand a week and don't train. What's the world coming to?
