The Answer to The Most Un-Answerable Question in Football: Who's the Best QB?

Nick SignorelliJul 24, 2009

Every day, I try to read all of the new articles written.  After the Steelers, I go to the AFC North, then the NFL, then I check all of the writers that I like to read.

Today, among the many, I read two articles about who is the best Quarterback, and how they should be rated.

Sometimes, I will ask someone a rhetorical question, one I already know the answer to. Sometimes, I ask questions, and everyone answers them different.

Then there are the questions that just don't have an answer.

If someone asks you, is there life on other planets, your only answer could be, I don't know.

If someone asks you how much water is in the ocean, your only answer could be, I don't know.

If someone asked you, how much sand is in the desert, again, the only answer could be, I don't know.

I am now going to ask a question, that every single one reading this is going to answer.  Who is the best Quarterback in the NFL?

Based on what you find important, there are many different answers to this question.

Every Indianapolis Colts fan is saying, without question, Peyton Manning. Their argument is: Look at the stats.

Same with Drew Brees and the Saints fans, same with Tony Romo and the Cowboys.

Then there are the Patriots.  Whose QB is known as one of the best to ever play the game.  They can then spit out stats and say, look how he plays in the post season.

Along with them, you have Steelers fans with Ben Roethlisberger, and Eagles fans with Donovan McNabb.

If you ask people that root for the Falcons or Ravens, they have a great QB that is going to be the best one day.

I have a little experiment I would like everyone to do.  When school starts up again, go to an elementary school.  Walk into a kindergarten class, and ask each kid what their favorite color is.

If you ask them individually, you will probably get 10-12 colors out of every twenty kids.  If you ask them all at the same time, they will go with the flow, and vote with what the other kids are saying.

The fact is, as a Steelers fan, I am one of the biggest Ben Roethlisberger Homers on this site.  He is my guy.  No one could do better, in my opinion, with my team, than Ben.

If the Steelers would trade Ben tomorrow for Philip Rivers, I would become a Rivers fan.  Would I like him as much?  If he won I would.

The same goes for the Colts, the Saints, the Patriots, and every other team in the NFL.

Don't believe me?  Ask any Bears fan what they thought about Jay Cutler prior to him being traded there.  My guess would be they thought he was a cry baby.

Cowboys fans, how many of you would think Tony Romo sucked if the Cowboys traded him to New Orleans for Drew Brees?

One of the thing about Bleacher I love so much is that all of us, every one, is opinionated towards our team, every single one.

Colts fans defend Peyton Manning saying he is the best because of his stats.  Sure they have an argument, but bet that they would have given up on him in a second if Ryan Leaf would have won them three Super Bowls.

Do you think if Peyton Manning would have won three Super Bowls right now, and had half the stats he does now, Colts fans would be talking about stats?

If Drew Bledsoe would have won a couple of Super Bowls while Tom Brady were on the bench, Patriots fans would have cheered if Brady was traded to the Chiefs five years ago for a second round pick.

As homers for our teams, we love our teams, and the man under center, unless he sucks, is our guy.  We fight for him, and defend him. What ever his strong suite is, that is what we focus on.

Now, lets talk about the best ever. Yeah right!
