Formulating the Solution to All Arsenal's Current Problems

Brian JohnsonJul 24, 2009

Arsenal are said to have major problems in the central midfield area, but I believe a careful use of the players currently at hand could provide a solution.

The use of Alexandre Song in midfield should continue, and Johan Djourou should be tried as CDM during the early stages of the season—as he has displayed the ability to play in this role.

Using a different formation could help the cash strapped club, as funding seems to be the main reason for Arsene Wenger's caution in buying players. In most cases, when manager do purchase a player, he doesn't fully blossom until the next season or beyond.

It is best for us to work with squad we have now, while acquiring players able to boost our chances in the future.

The formation that would work wonders for Arsenal is 3-1-3-1-2. I have see this type of formation work for many European Clubs, and Arsenal have the personnel required to make such a system work.

You may be wondering which combination of players from the current squad would work best in this formation, I'm not saying this would win every game, but it would certainly help secure more away wins.

The players I would use are:

Alumina

Sagna     Gallas     Vermaelen

Song

           Walcott Fabregas    Rosicky

                            Arshavin

Eduardo       Van Persie

With this starting formation I think Arsenal would compete for the title this season. As subs I would love see the following players used:

Kolo Toure

Johan Djourou

Carlos Vela

Samir Nasri

L. Fabianski

Aaron Ramsey

E. Eboue
