Madison Bumgarner Ups the Ante, Pours 6 Beers Near Mouth After Winning Pennant

Dan CarsonOct 17, 2014

Madison Bumgarner cannot be stopped—will not be stopped.

Big Country did what Big Country does Thursday night, pouring six bottles of beer in and around his mouth to celebrate the San Francisco Giants' 6-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals and subsequent advancement to the World Series.

The San Jose Mercury News’ Alex Pavlovic recorded a Vine of Bumgarner waterfalling a six pack onto his face and chest. One intrepid teammate also did his part to wedge a champagne bottle into the mix.

Those of you keeping track at home will know six beers is entirely keeping with the overall trajectory of Bumgarner’s postseason beer-slamming trend.

Since celebrating with four beers after his team’s National League Wild Card Game victory, the 6’5” lefty has managed to fit in one more beer after each of his celebrations per postseason advancement.

Let’s take a look at the trend.

At this rate (and if it’s physically possible), Bumgarner is charted for a seven-beer shower if the Giants win a World Series. Then again, it’s difficult to rule out MadBum’s mainlining a pony keg if San Francisco wins it all.
