Travis Ishikawa Hits Walk-Off Home Run to Send Giants to World Series
October 17, 2014
The San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals were tied at 3-3 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series, but Travis Ishikawa wanted to get it over with and send his team to the World Series.
With runners on first and second, Ishikawa blasted a walk-off home run to clinch the National League pennant and the 6-3 win. After hitting the ball, Ishikawa quickly realized that he ended the game and NLCS, 4-1, and his entire team went nuts as he ran around the bases.
The Giants will now take on the Kansas City Royals in the World Series. If the Fall Classic ends up being as good as the rest of this MLB postseason has been so far, the fans are in for a treat.
