The bumblebees doubled their lead through a 38th minute Scott McDonald penalty.
FC Seoul 2 - Manchester United 3 (Friendly, July 24, 2009) (Longer MUTV highlights here.) FC Seoul sent the home crowd wild 25 minutes in taking the lead with a superb goal as Dejan Damjanovic met a right-wing cross on the volley, giving Tomasz Kuszczak no chance in the United goal. The Koreans’ lead was short-lived, John O’Shea swung in an inviting right-wing cross and Wayne Rooney was left free by the penalty spot able able to easily head home the leveller. On the stroke of halftime the hosts retook the lead in style, the ball was slipped through to Dejan Damjanovic and the Montenegrin forward chipped a delightful shot over Kuszczak for number two. (First half highlights here.) United equalised just before the hour, Rooney’s diagonal ball over the top picked out Federico Macheda’s run to perfection and the young Italian rounded the keeper to finish in style.
