Amar'e Stoudemire Posts Picture of Himself Bathing in Red Wine

You don’t know luxury until you’ve submerged yourself in the quiet, cordovan depths of a tub filled with red wine.

In the ultimate “Treat Yo Self” move, Amar’e Stoudemire appears to have indulged in a fine red-Zinfandel soak on Wednesday as part of his recovery regimen.

The New York Knicks power forward/center posted a picture of his bath on Instagram. He captioned the image “Recovery Day! Red Wine Bath !! #Kinging #Blessed #Hebrews Getting ready for the eighth day feast.”

Is it red wine? A camera filter? Tart, always unpleasant cranberry juice?

I see bubbles on the surface that appear to be from wine, which supposedly fights aging and cellulite when applied directly to skin.

You can't rule out Stoudemire doing something like this. He’s a huge proponent of the sleeveless jean jacket, which pairs well with red wine and fixed gear bicycles. 

We can only hope it wasn’t Trader Joe’s wine, or else he left that tub with two fewer layers of skin than he entered with.

In any case, #kinging isn’t easy, and I think we can all learn something from Stoudemire’s treatment of himself.

When’s the last time you wined and dined your own posterior? When’s the last time you poured yourself 15 Merlots, turned on The Commodores and climbed into the tannic depths of relaxation?

Amar’e did it on Wednesday, and it’s time for the rest of us to take our self-treating game up another level.
