Chris Ivory Injury: Updates on Jets Star's Groin and Return

New York Jets running back Chris Ivory's groin injury didn't keep him from being listed as active for Monday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts, the team confirmed.

Ivory was a limited participant in Saturday's practice, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. He participated in that capacity for three days, per the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta.

Last week, Ivory got off to a roaring start by rushing 20 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-10 home win against the Cleveland Browns.

The 27-year-old has provided backfield stability for the Jets since coming over from the New Orleans Saints in 2013. He's always possessed an intriguing combination of power and big-play ability, but it wasn't until he arrived in New York that he started seeing consistent first-team work.

Part of that was due to injuries. He missed 24 games across three seasons with the Saints after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He's showcased more durability since joining Gang Green, though, missing just a single regular-season contest.

Ivory will be going up against a Colts defense that allowed 147 rushing yards to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.
