Michael Vick Should Play For The Houstan Texans
Yep that's right, I believe that Michael Vick would be a perfect fit for the Houston Texans. I was actually watching First Take on ESPN, who was previewing the AFC South and found myself thinking first and foremost about the Colts and the Titans. All I could think about Houston was that, yeah, they have some good players, but it just seems like they are missing something to get them over the hump. I thought about it and I think that Michael Vick might be the missing piece.
First of all I think that wherever Vick goes, he will have to be involved in the Wildcat offense to be any sort of contributer other than being the backup QB. Now there are only certain situations in which the wildcat is effective. It just wouldnt be smart to try to run the wildcat where there is already a superstar QB like in Indianapolis, New England, or New Orleans. There is a reason that the Dolphins were so successfull running this "new offense" last season. Chad Pennington is a solid quarterback, but he is injury prone, and nobody would go out and say he is a Pro-Bowler.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This brings me back to the Texans, think about it Houston fans, you have Matt Schaub. Granted, I am a Falcons fan, and watched Schaub operate as our backup and he is a solid QB. However, he is not yet a star, and there might actually be a lower ceiling for him than a lot of people think. Another thing about Matt Schaub is that he seems to be a little injury prone. He only played in 11 games last season due to one injury or another.
That is where Michael Vick comes in. He can run the wildcat offense for the Texans for about 20 plays a game which does a couple of things. First off, it gives Schaub less snaps to preserve him. However, he would still get plenty of snaps to prove what kind of QB he really is. Another thing it does is make teams game plan for just another thing for the Texans to throw at them. I mean they have a couple of solid running backs with the quick Steve Slaton, and the bigger Chris Brown.
Everybody has been talking about the "next step" in the wildcat offense, and Michael Vick personifies the next step. Because while he may be a run first QB, he still is an NFL quarterback. Once everyone gets to thinking about how to stop the three headed running monster of Vick, Slaton, and Brown, that is when Vick throws a bomb down the field to a wide open Andre Johnson for a touchdown. Even if he is not wide open, there are not many people, other than Larry Fitzgerald, that I would want in those kind of jump ball scenarios.
While the other defensive coordinator is game planning for all of that, Houston could come out and only use Vick for like 5 plays, then the trick is on the other team. Michael Vick is going to be a weapon for whatever team he plays for, whether he actually makes it onto the field or not. And lets just say that the Texans don't want to use the wildcat, and that is perfectly okay, because it is very gimicky and Kubiak might not be into it. Who would you rather have come into the game if Matt Schaub goes down for another 5 games next season. Michael Vick or..... Rex Grossman?
The answer is pretty simple to me.
