Asiata to Miss Week 12 With Concussion
Depth in the Minnesota Vikings backfield has taken a hit as running back Matt Asiata will miss Sunday's game vs. the Green Bay Packers with a concussion.
ESPN's Ben Goessling reported that the running back would be absent:
Master Tesfatsion of the Star-Tribune first reported the issue:
With Adrian Peterson on the NFL's exempt list, the Vikes turned to Asiata and Jerick McKinnon to help shoulder the load in his absence. But as Asiata continued to plod along in unspectacular fashion, fans—both for real-life and fantasy purposes—clamored for more playing time for the electrifying rookie.
On Wednesday, the team also claimed Ben Tate off waivers from the Cleveland Browns.
McKinnon's role was already increasing, but for as long as Asiata remains sidelined, the talented Georgia Southern product, along with Tate, will get all the touches he can handle.
