Why Fabricio Oberto is a Perfect Fit for the Washington Wizards

The checklist for the next Washington Wizards post players was as follows.

• Defensive-minded
• Veteran experience
• Depth without disruption to the development of JaVale McGee

For their money, the Wizards could not have gotten any better than Fabricio Oberto. And this signing made me realize something. Had the resources been invested in say, DeJuan Blair, the risk would've been much greater in his conditioning and ability to adapt to the length and nuance of the NBA game. Blair has the potential to be the next Charles Barkley, or the next Eddy Curry; there is a fine line between donuts a discipline.

With Oberto, the Wizards get skill over brawn, and experience over potential; something that the Wizards need much more of to make a respectable run for the playoffs.
