Diego Maradona and the Porthsmouth Link

So we called them the Big Four as they led English football for the past decade, then came about the men with the money at Manchester City, so they went to the "Big Five".

But now there's another takeover that's in the pipeline, and with the millions at disposal we could see Portsmouth join to create the "Big Six".

Reports in Arab papers state that Argentinian super hero, Diego Maradona, could be on the cards for the position of coach at the South Coast-based club and could leave the national position.

But reports also state that new owner Sh. Fahim will want Maradona to be the president of the club and be in charge of buying players rather than him coaching.

According to the article, Maradona already has a number of superstars ready to sign, the names mentioned with that of Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o, Valencian duo David Silva and David Villa, and Argentinian international Sergio "Kun" Aguero.

But with the possible shut deal with Inter, Eto'o will be one name that's unlikely, for the rest their inclusion could light up the Premier League even more.

But what impact will this have on the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool, who seem to be far ahead even from Arsenal who lost key players in recent years?

Could we see an immediate difference with the arrival of the two new Arab billionaires, or will it take time for the money to sink in. Man City currently have nine strikers, four of which are star strikers, and other are players who were part of the team for a few years now.

So how will Mark Hughes manage them and could we see Carlos Tevez sitting on the bench once again, just this time in the blue colours of Manchester?

Maradona, who hasn't had the best start to hist coaching career, could also see a backlash from the Argentinian public, if he leaves the national team in a time that could see them ousted from a place in the 2010 World Cup.
