Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl left tackle Branden Albert announced Tuesday that he has an elbow injury, which puts his status in doubt for Week 7's showdown with the Chicago Bears.
Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reported the details:
Ian Wharton of Optimum Scouting weighed in on Albert's value:
Albert was signed as a free agent in the offseason to help bolster a troubled Dolphins offensive line. The results were immediate when Miami beat New England in the season opener. Nevertheless, Albert saw room for improvement.
"I think that we all just worked together today," said Albert after Week 1's victory, via NFL.com's Jeff Darlington. "All the running backs, they ran the ball hard. But I still feel like we got Ryan (Tannehill) hit a little bit too much."
Through Week 6, Miami has the NFL's sixth-ranked rushing attack, but Albert's absence would be a big blow for both dimensions of the offense.
