A lifelong Villa fan, Grealish told the team's Twitter feed how ecstatic he was to commit his future to the club:

The Ireland U21 international, who is still eligible to play for England's senior side, is widely regarded as one of the top young talents in the Premier League. He impressed on loan with Notts County, prompting Paul Lambert to keep him in Birmingham for the 2014-15 season.

His immense potential had several top clubs interested in his services, with Chelsea seen as the front-runners, via the Daily Mail's Laurie Whitwell. Grealish's contract was set to run out in June, so the new deal will bring an end to the transfer speculation.

The start to his Premier League career has looked very promising, as other clubs have quickly been made aware of his talent, via WhoScored.com's Martin Laurence:

Squawka hopes he'll spend his first new paycheck wisely:

Villa have decided to bring him along slowly this season (just 99 Premier League minutes so far, via WhoScored), and a prolonged stay with the Claret and Blue can only help his development.

The club will undoubtedly increase his minutes during the season, ensuring one of England's brightest talents receives all the playing time he needs to continue growing as a player.
