AC Milan Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of October 13

Anthony LopopoloOct 13, 2014

With no match over the weekend due to the international break, AC Milan are looking forward to October 19 when they face Verona at the San Siro. In the meantime, the Serie A club maintain a steady presence in this week's transfer news and rumours.

Despite currently playing for Liverpool, Mario Balotelli will forever be connected to the Rossoneri—though it appears Milan president Silvio Berlusconi was delighted to see him go. Elsewhere, it appears current Liverpool teammate Suso may be headed to Italy in the near future.

Let’s take a look at the transfer reports surrounding the club this week.

Balotelli a 'Bad Apple'

By many accounts, it appears to be a good thing Mario Balotelli no longer plays for AC Milan.

"He was bought against my advice," Milan president Silvio Berlusconi said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Football Italia). "Now there are no more bad apples."

Berlusconi called Balotelli a "bad apple" just before Milan bought the forward in January 2013. He was sold to Liverpool last summer for €20 million.

Sporting director Umberto Gandini told the Daily Star Sunday (h/t Football Italia) this weekend that Balotelli "was not the kind of player we were looking for" and that the move to Liverpool made "everyone happy."

Former teammate Marco Amelia told Sportitalia "deep down [Balotelli] is a good lad" (h/t Football Italia) but Amelia also complained about the 24-year-old's presence in the locker room.

"It’s almost as if he weren’t there at all. You have to drag words out of him."

Honda Out, Suso in

Keisuke Honda will be unavailable during the month of January while he plays for Japan in the 2015 Asian Cup.

Enter Suso.

The 20-year-old Spanish midfielder is expected to leave Liverpool, but Milan could try to sign Suso during the next transfer window, according to Corriere della Sera (h/t Football Italia). It is believed somewhere between 2 million and €3 million would be enough to get him.

Suso recently scored off the bench in a League Cup match against Middlesbrough, but he is currently sidelined with a groin injury.
