DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Andre Roberts' Post-Week 6 Fantasy Outlook

Sean ODonnellOct 12, 2014

The Washington Redskins found themselves trailing the Arizona Cardinals for the bulk of Sunday's contest, giving wide receivers DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon and Andre Roberts plenty of opportunities to produce for fantasy owners. The end result was rather surprising.

Here's a look at how the trio of pass-catchers fared in the desert:

For the second consecutive week, quarterback Kirk Cousins hooked up with Jackson for a long touchdown strike. Early in the second quarter, the duo took the top off the Cardinals secondary, connecting on a 64-yard score.

Here's a great look at how quickly Jackson piled up the yards against Arizona, via Numbers Never Lie:

While he wasn't the most targeted option on Washington's offense, Jackson's ability to thrive as a home-run hitting wide receiver, and his apparent chemistry with Cousins, makes him a legitimate WR1 in all fantasy formats.

Jackson's value may have increased slightly with Cousins at the helm, but Garcon's has begun to decline. Aside from a big game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, the two players have had difficulty hooking up. That held true on Sunday until Garcon pulled in a touchdown grab with just over two minutes remaining.

A lack of looks in Garcon's direction is a little concerning for fantasy owners, but his history of solid production is enough reason to continue to consider him a WR2—for now.

Quite possibly the most interesting stat of the day was Roberts' nine targets, which led all wide receivers. His final stat line wasn't overly impressive, but it appears as though his role in the offense has increased over the last few weeks.

Roberts' value is still limited, but he should be considered a viable bye-week replacement or spot starter in deeper leagues.
