Jamaal Tinsley Is an Ex-Pacer...Finally

Pacers fans....rejoice!

It has finally happened, the Pacers have gotten rid of troubled guard Jamaal Tinsley. The Pacers waived him on Wednesday, and it was submitted to the NBA today. If he clears waivers in seven days, he will become a free agent.

Tinsley was the last remaining Pacer to take part in the hideous 2004 brawl at the Palace in Detroit.

Legal problems and injuries have been the main story behind Tinsley. He was owed approximately $14.7 million over the next couple years.

In a 14-month stretch, he was involved in three different late night conflicts: A strip-club incident in '06, a bar fight in '07, and a gun fight by a downtown Indianapolis hotel in December of '07.

Tinsley wasn't shooting, but he was being shot at, and although he got away uninjured, the Pacers' equipment manager suffered two gunshot wounds to the elbows.

The Pacers would not comment on the buyout situation, but it has been reported that it was around $10 million.

With the last trouble maker finally gone from the Pacers roster, things in Indy look so much brighter. After I heard the news break, the sky seemed to open up, the sun was shining on my face, and the temperature kicked up to a comfortable 75 degrees.

All kidding aside, the Pacers are finally in great shape and they can get rid of this clown once and for all.

Tinsley's agent said there have been multiple teams interested in signing Tinsley, but who knows how reliable that statement is. He hasn't played in three years, and he hasn't been healthy pretty much his whole career.
