Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton won the inaugural Russian Grand Prix ahead of Nico Rosberg at the Sochi Autodrom on Sunday afternoon to extend his advantage over his team-mate in the drivers’ championship to 17 points with now just three races left this season.

The Briton lead from start to finish to claim his ninth victory this year, and fourth in a row—the second time already that the 29-year-old has achieved that in this campaign—although his rival needed to recover from a mistake on the opening lap to claim the runners-up berth.
