WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of Oct. 6

The Rock's return served as the impetus for much of the best WWE social media this week.

A celebration of SmackDown, the show The Rock claims as his own, also gave way to a number of notable tweets, Instagram photos and viral videos. Dolph Ziggler's luggage struggles and Dean Ambrose's adventures through New York contributed as well.

Before the week in WWE even got started in earnest, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had folks thinking of a former world champ.

After scoring a touchdown in Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, Kelce paid tribute to Ric Flair with a Flair-esque strut. PDS caught it on Vine:

Or is that a Jeff Jarrett strut? It's a bit tough to tell.

The same is true when catching a glimpse of Ziggler hitting a Fameasser. If you don't have your glasses on, it's easy to think you're watching an old clip of Billy Gunn.

En route to Monday's Raw, Ziggler found himself entangled with an opponent in the form of United Airlines. The airline apparently lost his luggage, including a bag that contained the Intercontinental Championship.

The Showoff went on a hilarious Twitter rant about the situation. Here are just a few of his best anti-United tweets:

You have to hand it to Ziggler for some creative solutions to the issue. WWE didn't go with any of them.

Once Raw began, fans soon saw Ambrose take his leave of the show. Rather than be paired with John Cena in a tag match, The Lunatic Fringe decided to explore the city.

He said he was headed to Coney Island to get a hot dog. He wasn't kidding.

WWE snapped a shot of him backstage, subway pass in hand:

Ambrose later showed up with a hot dog cart in tow. Normally, Ambrose chomping on a hot dog while squirting mustard in Randy Orton's face would have been the moment fans would be talking about in the days following. But The Great One's appearance did the headline-making instead.

Those who follow The Rock on Twitter caught wind of his surprise cameo first:

Not surprisingly, the most watched WWE videos of the week were all about The Rock coming through the curtain to have a face-to-face with Rusev. It's the kind of moment that maintains its electricity even after the fifth and sixth viewing.

Saturday Night Live cast members Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam were lucky enough to see that unfold live. They took time out to head to the Barclays Center. If you're going to attend one Raw, this one was a good one to choose.

Killam's Instagram shot of The Rock in the ring caught the comedians trying to play it tough:

After the glow of The Rock on Raw faded, the focus shifted to SmackDown. Friday's show will mark SmackDown's 15th anniversary. That has led to a lot of reminiscing.

WWE's YouTube channel counted down the 10 best moments of the very first episode:

On Instagram, WWE compiled a number of the best, most memorable moves in the show's history. That meant that Rhyno goring Chris Jericho, The Shield attacking The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio leaping from the top of a steel cage were all merged into a single clip:

SmackDown's most powerful moment remains its tribute show after 9/11.

With the United States still in shock, a wound still fresh, WWE Superstars helped distract the nation for a few hours. WWE reflected back on the unforgettable show on its Twitter account:

The Rock was there that night as well, the American flag in one hand and the WWE title in the other. Here's hoping that WWE will never need to put on a tribute show like that again.
