Gus Bradley also spoke about the running back situation, via Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union:

"

'I would look to see Denard – he’s probably the guy that we’re going with and you’ll see Toby get quite a few reps,' Bradley said.

(...)

'I was really watching him today and he looked really good,' Bradley said. 'I don’t know if it’s just fresh legs or he finally feels healthy, but just seeing him carry the ball and run, he looks like he’s at another speed.'

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart missed practice Thursday due to a foot injury, leaving his status for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans in jeopardy.

ESPN.com's Michael DiRocco reports that Gerhart injured his foot in last week's loss to Pittsburgh, and suffered a setback after participating fully in Wednesday's practice.

Jags head coach Gus Bradley praised Storm Johnson for the spark he provided in Week 5 with four carries and 27 yards.

"How can you argue the fact that Storm … showed up and did some good things," said Bradley, per Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. "For him to go in there and perform and really capture his opportunity was pretty cool to see."

Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles could use all the help he can get from the rushing attack. Thus far, Gerhart has not provided it, averaging a meager 2.6 yards per carry, albeit battling foot and ankle problems.

That ought to provide opportunities for Johnson, Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman to assert themselves and make cases for more touches. If Jacksonville has any hope of rebounding from an 0-5 start, it has to muster a better running game to keep its still-developing defense off the field.
