Aldridge Out vs. Rockets

Monday, Dec. 22

Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman had the news on Aldridge's status:

Aldridge came into his own last season with the Blazers. His career has been on an upward trajectory for years, but 2013-14 was the best season of his career. The 29-year-old averaged a career-high 23.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

He's become a staple on the Western Conference All-Star team, playing in the midseason spectacle each of the last three years. Aldridge also finished 10th in NBA MVP voting last year, en route to leading the Trail Blazers to a 54-28 record and playoff series win against Houston.

This season his Blazers are currently 22-6 and in second place in the rugged Western Conference. Aldridge is leading the way, averaging 22.8 points, 10.7 rebounds while shooting 45 percent from the floor.

The Trail Blazers' aspirations are sky high this season coming off the most successful year since going to the Western Conference Finals in 1999-2000. He's the leader of the team playing outstanding offense and defense.

Losing Aldridge for any length of time puts the Blazers at a distinct disadvantage in a loaded Western Conference.
