WWE SmackDown: Spoiler-Free Preview for October 10
WWE SmackDown will celebrate its 15th anniversary in bizarre fashion.
A mini-gator, a stunt double, Stardust and Los Matadores will all cram into the main event. It's a night sure to look back at SmackDown's legacy while showcasing emerging stars and the roster's comedy acts.
The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia plays host as the road to Hell in a Cell crawls along.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
SmackDown's lineup promises to continue AJ Lee's feud with Paige. It offers Dolph Ziggler a tough test and Seth Rollins a warm-up match before that upcoming pay-per-view.
Philly fans already saw all the action unfold. The show (taped on Tuesday) won't air on Syfy until Friday at 8 p.m. ET. Until then, fans can either seek out spoiler reports or read through the following results-free preview.
Adam Rose vs. Kane
Rose has mostly faced tomato cans thus far. He now steps into the ring with former WWE champ Kane, a sadist in slacks who is a much larger man than Rose.

The leader of The Rosebuds has a career-boosting bout ahead of him.
Fans will be curious how he looks in a longer match, seeing as how he's been booked to knock off opponents with just a handful of moves. This will also be worth watching to see how seriously WWE believes in Rose.
An upset win over the big man signals big things for him ahead. Getting clobbered by Kane points to Rose remaining at the bottom of the card.
AJ Lee vs. Alicia Fox
The Divas champ takes on her rival's new best friend. Fox has aligned with Paige to form a duo of unstable women.
Paige must now watch on as her buddy tangles with AJ. Chances are high that Paige delivers a cheap shot or two and that there will be either a pre- or post-match brawl. Paige and AJ's dislike for each other grows each week.
It feels as if Paige is line for another title shot soon, but maybe Fox moves up to the No. 1 contender spot. A non-title win would certainly help her make the case to do so.
Seth Rollins vs. Kofi Kingston
Kingston hasn't wrestled on SmackDown since losing to Alberto Del Rio back in July.
Rollins, meanwhile, has become one of WWE's top heels. At Hell in a Cell, he will face the winner of Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena. On SmackDown, he has a chance to send a message to both men, a message that speaks to how dangerous he is.
Kingston is on the hunt for an upset and momentum.
Besides his high-flying skills, this match intrigues because it may answer whether or not Kingston's alliance with Big E and Xavier Woods is still a thing. If either of those men stand in his corner, it's WWE's way of saying the faction still exists, even if it does so in obscurity right now.
Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler
Ziggler bested Rusev when The Bulgarian Brute was still at NXT.
Rusev has changed in that time, garnering more and more of WWE's spotlight. After wins over Jack Swagger, Big E and Mark Henry, does he add The Showoff to his list of victims?
The intercontinental champ has been clashing with Cesaro more and more as of late. He may have to worry about dealing with both The King of Swing and Rusev. Even if Cesaro doesn't interfere or distract, Ziggler isn't necessarily the favorite here.
Rusev has yet to be pinned or forced to submit while on the main roster. Will that stay true if Ziggler cracks his head against the mat with the Zig Zag?
Mark Henry, Sheamus, The Usos, Los Matadores, Jack Swagger and El Torito vs. Heath Slater, Titus O'Neil, Cesaro, Bo Dallas, Stardust, Damien Mizdow, Goldust and Hornswoggle
The last match of the night is a crowded one.
Powerhouses team with court jesters in a bout that could be anything from a gag-filled disaster to a surprising thrill ride. It depends on how WWE plays this, for laughs or as a way to show off today's talent.
A lot of Hornsoggle dressed as an alligator won't be nearly as captivating as Sheamus brawling with Cesaro or Swagger mixing it up with Mizdow.

As fun as this might be, it's a strange juxtaposition to SmackDown's very first main event—Triple H vs. The Rock for the WWE title.
There will be no championship on the line. There will be no Shawn Michaels in short-shorts.
A decade and a half after SmackDown's genesis, it couldn't be clearer how much the show has changed.
