Let Me Re-introduce Andre Miller
Is it just me or does it seem like the Blazers, or maybe the media, is desperate for Portland to make a dynamic free agent acquisition? Even when it seems the summer is dying down, stories and rumors continue to reappear in various news outlets. David Aldridge wrote about this topic yesterday and says that nothing is necessarily imminent, just that talks have resurfaced.
Apparently Andre Miller flew to Vegas last week and met with both Nate McMillan and Mike D'Antoni. No offers have been made, but Miller is certainly intriguing as the free agent class continues to slim down. Marc Spears also discusses the idea that Bayless could be offered as part of a deal to land Miller.
As I recall in previous discussions about Andre Miller, many of you were against bringing him to Portland. His outside shooting is either bad or nonexistent and he's getting up there in age. But weeks later, with few options remaining, are you interested in Miller now?
For some reason I've always liked Miller and would welcome him with open arms. His ability to run a team and pass may not be on an All-Star level at age 33, but he still provides point guard skills that would benefit this Blazer team.
Imagine having someone who can actually get the ball to our bigs on screens, cuts, and most importantly in open space. I don't really care if he can shoot a three or not, there are guys all over the court who can bust a bucket from long range(site name usage!).
Anyway, sound off on your thoughts about getting Andre Miller. Is he a better option than a potential trade deadline acquisition? So many questions, so few answers.
