In a shocking development on WWE's Monday Night Raw, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made an appearance at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The packed crowd erupted when The Rock returned to Raw. Ring announcer Justin Roberts posted a photo of The Rock as he faced the gaggle of professional wrestling fans:

Joseann Offerman enjoyed The Rock's presence:

The same was true for WrestleZone.com and Wrestling INC:

The Rock was ambushed by Rusev, much to the chagrin of fans in attendance. But it did add some excitement to The Rock's presence, planting the seed for a potential feud.

Brian Gulish of WrestleZone.com speculated what Rusev's appearance could mean moving forward:

Although the WWE can use dramatic twists and turns in its storylines to keep pro wrestling enthusiasts engaged, a cameo by an irreplaceable, rare star such as The Rock can trump any of those efforts.

Medium's Tim Ryan documented one development that showed off The Rock's special way with the audience:

Fox Sports' Jimmy Traina captured video of the moment:

Arguably the greatest draw in the history of the industry, The Rock is always a pleasant personality to welcome back. Due to a massive career as a movie star, he is not as prominent in the WWE these days. It remains to be seen whether his Raw appearance is an aberration or a hint of what's to come.

No matter what the future holds for The Rock in terms of wrestling, no one can deny his skills on the microphone that have made him stand out for years among many superstars. Monday was further proof that The Rock is still cookin', hotter than ever among his WWE admirers.
