The last seven days have seen a mixed run of results for Juventus, but the morale-denting nature of their loss to Atletico Madrid was truly shaken off on Sunday. A triumphant win over title rivals AS Roma was not without controversy yet hands the Bianconeri a vital three-point cushion atop the Serie A standings.

Now domestic action takes a brief pause for the latest international break, and such times always see a rise in transfer chatter and rumours. With the Turin giants struggling against the cream of Europe once again, it is likely they will look to strengthen in January, seeking to add a player able to add something extra to an already excellent team.

Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi has said the problems between Arturo Vidal and Juventus will quickly be forgotten. A member of Marcello Lippi’s all-conquering side, he spoke to TuttoSport about the Chilean, telling them (h/t Football Italia):

Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Interested in Manolo Gabbiadini

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Manolo Gabbiadini has drawn the interest of Atletico Madrid and Tottenham. Writing on his own website, the Italian transfer expert believes the duo could soon make a move for the 22-year-old, who is co-owned by Juventus and current club Sampdoria.

Serie a Trio Look at Lyon’s Clement Grenier

Reports in France believe Inter, Juventus Milan are all chasing Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier. According to L’Equipe (h/t Forza Italian Football) the trio believe the 23-year-old could be available either in January or the summer and are currently preparing their bids.

Stephan Lichtsteiner Unaware of PSG Interest

Stephan Lichtsteiner insists there is no rush to renew his contract, and denied any knowledge of a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The 30-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of the season and rumours have linked the player with a move to France in a swap deal with midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Asked about the PS-G links, the player himself told Tuttosport (h/t Forza Italian Football);

I do not know anything about it, I hear so many rumours. I am focused on the championship, there is always time for the contract renewal. Am I’m going to run down my contract? I do not want to talk about that.

Fine Sees Manchester United Linked to Arturo Vidal Again

Juventus have fined Arturo Vidal for an incident outside a Turin nightclub, once again sparking speculation the midfielder may move to Manchester United. The Chilean was reportedly late for training last Friday, with La Gazzetta dello Sport citing a city centre confrontation, per Football Italia.

That has once again seen the Old Trafford giants linked to Vidal, with the same source believing Juve’s intolerance of his behaviour has alerted the English club.

Stephan Lichtsteiner and Giorgio Chiellini Contract Updates

Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed talks over new contracts for two Juventus defenders are taking on mixed fortunes. The currents deals for Giorgio Chiellini and Stephan Lichtsteiner both expire this summer and it seems the latter is becoming a serious issue.

Writing on his own website, the transfer expert believes that while the former should sign very soon, his Swiss team-mate is struggling to reach an agreement. Further meetings with Lichtsteiner’s agent should be held in the coming days.

Juventus insist that they missed out on Roma's Juan Manuel Iturbe this summer due to a lack of funding. The winger appeared close to joining the Bianconeri only to head for the capital club instead.

“He is a strong player, and over the summer we tried to contact him,” Juve director Giuseppe Marotta told Sky Italia on Sunday (h/t Football Italia). “Evidently Roma had more disposable income at the time.”
