Reggie Wayne, TY Hilton, Hakeem Nicks' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 5

There is a certain value to owning an Indianapolis Colts wide receiver in fantasy football because Andrew Luck is the one distributing the ball.

However, that wasn’t necessarily the case for everyone in the group of Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and Hakeem Nicks in Indianapolis’ game against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday. Here is a look at their final stats.

Baltimore boasts a stiffer defense than some of Indy's previous opponents, so the lack of touchdown catches for any of the receivers is not particularly surprising.

Still, Luck had 1,305 passing yards and 13 touchdowns through the air entering play Sunday, so you have to feel good about Wayne and Hilton in fantasy leagues moving forward, especially after Luck targeted both 12 times Sunday. Targets are the best indicator of consistent fantasy success for wide receivers, and Hilton and Wayne are getting the looks from Luck.

Wayne finally broke out in the Colts’ last game against the Tennessee Titans with 119 receiving yards and a touchdown and has a proven track record in his career. Hilton also had a big game in that one with 105 yards and topped 1,000 yards last season.

With the Colts’ rushing attack stuck in mediocrity at best, Luck will likely look to sling it to those two all year. That means more fantasy points for your teams.

There is more hesitation with Nicks, though. He only had 94 yards entering play Sunday and didn’t score a touchdown last season. Nicks seems to be the forgotten piece of the Colts offense, which is worrisome for fantasy owners.

It may be time to look toward the waiver wire for receiving help if you are depending on Nicks.
