NASCAR at Kansas 2014: Live Results and Analysis from the Hollywood Casino 400

Joey Logano wins the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas! 

Kansas started similar to eight other races this season, with Kevin Harvick leading.

Howeer, Harvick wouldn’t hold onto the lead, as Jamie McMurray got out in front around Lap 50.

Cautions didn’t start to come out until around Lap 70, but a string of three cautions—one involving Jimmie Johnson, which will make the 48 team push even harder for the last two races of the Contender round—soon cropped up.

After the cautions settled down, Dale Earnhardt Jr. would emerge as the race leader and the fastest car on the track. Dale ran into into bad luck around Lap 122, though, as he had a tire go down, causing him to hit the wall.

The 88 took damage, and before the race was even halfway over, two Hendrick cars had taken a huge hit in the Chase.

Joey Logano took the lead, but his teammate Brad Keselowski ran into trouble and hit the wall.

A handful of Chase drivers seemed to run into problems at Kansas, which will add even more importance to the other two races in the Contender round.

As the race continued, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick both emerged as the cars to beat, but it was Logano who led the race by Lap 210.

More cautions would come out during the Hollywood Casino 400 and all four Hendrick drivers ran into issues during today’s race.

By Lap 250, Joey Logano was back as the race leader after drivers like Ryan Newman tried to make it to the front through pit strategies.

Logano didn’t have it easy though, as rookie Kyle Larson started to close up on the 22 of Logano.

It wasn’t enough though, as Logano held onto his lead and will now move onto the next round of the Chase!
