Samir Nasri's Injury: Huge Blow or Big Chance for Rosicky and Wilshere?
Arsenal fans around the world were hit with the devastating news that key midfielder Samir Nasri will be out for at least three months after breaking his leg at training. The Frenchman who arrived at Arsenal from Olympique Marseille in 2008, had a superb debut season for the Gunners in 2008/2009 and critics, fans, the footballing world, were keen to see the 21-year-old strut his stuff in 2009-2010 due to him having a full EPL season under his belt.
Nasri, who gives the Arsenal midfield much needed pace, balance, versatility, power, and goals, is likely to return to the fray in mid October. Arsenal's Premiership chances were down the drain by October last season, and Wenger has already highlighted the vitality of a solid start to the 2009-2010 season.

However, Nasri's suffering has opened the door for the likes of Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere, and Nacer Barazite—The injury is almost a blessing in disguise for Rosicky. The Czech, who missed the whole 2008-2009 season with a niggling leg injury which he suffered in Jan. 2008, just recently made his comeback to the Arsenal squad in their friendly encounter with Barnet. Rosicky can now slot into Nasri's usual position, left wing, and provide the sort of impact that Nasri's brings to the Arsenal attack.
As for Jack Wilshere, the 17-year-old wonder kid who Arsenal fan's got a glimpse of last season, will be relishing an opportunity in the EPL, and with Nasri gone, Wilshere will be able to gain some valuable experience.
Last but not least, Nacer Barazite. The Dutch sensation who has a similar playing style to the injured Nasri, will now hopefully be given a chance to shine after a successful loan spell at Derby county. Barazite showed whilst at Derby, that he can be a huge threat to defences with his pace and confidence with both feet.
Nasri's injury is a huge blow to Arsenal, but it does however open the door of opportunity.
