Dedicated fantasy football owners will put personal feelings aside in order to put the best players on their rosters in their starting lineups. That can make for some tough decisions, especially when an NFL player has himself on his fantasy team.
With his performance against Washington last Thursday, New York Giants tight end Larry Donnell made many fantasy football owners very happy. He had seven catches for 54 yards and three touchdowns. Of course, those numbers don't do fantasy owners any good on the bench. Donnell found that out the hard way.
According to The Record's Art Stapleton, Donnell admitted that he lost his fantasy football game last week because he had benched himself in favor of San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis.
Davis had just two catches for eight yards in Week 4.
Donnell may have thought that he wasn't going to be a big part of the Giants' game plan or that Davis had a more favorable matchup. Regardless of why he benched himself, the 25-year-old learned that it's OK to be biased and start himself.
